Information about the Author/Artist:
Melinda Reynolds is a Kentucky native, married to Ken Reynolds in 1978, with two sons (Adrian and Brian) and three grandchildren (Michael, Rachael, and Connor).
Her interest in angels and the angelic realm is recently acquired, if you can call 1988 'recent'; at that time, she was editor, writer, and artist for a fanzine named BACK-TO-BACK. One of the last stories involved the plotline of an angel battling a demon. The last Chapter in SECTION III - REPARATION, was orginally the first story ever written with the character of Angel Warrior Mihdael. It was called "Xathon, Demon of Duplicity", and Mihdael was simply an average Angel Warrior and did not have the rank of Lt. Commander and Second-in-Command of Heaven's army. That came later -- about three years later.
While researching for the story, Ms. Reynolds became interested in the Biblical Angels, and was inspired to write more about them. The short story became a novelette, then a novel, then three novels.
Once started, the author found a plethora of storylines and ideas to explore. And as an artist, she was bemused by the effeminate artwork of male angels that seemed hardly the eptitome of a powerful Angel Warrior. She took the opportunity not only to delve into the psyches and lives of truly 'good' and God-fearing characters, but to also portray them artistically as the powerful beings she saw them to be.
The first book in the Trilogy was originally titled ANGEL WARRIORS - EARTHBOUND; it has now been renamed and printed in three separate books: CREATION, REBELLION, AND REPARATION. Each book in the orginal trilogy (EARTHBOUND, HELLBOUND, and HEAVENBOUND) represented different stages of Mihdael's life.
EARTHBOUND - The 'childlike' years of learning and wonderment.
HELLBOUND - The 'teen-age' years of questioning and rebellion.
HEAVENBOUND - The 'adult' years of maturity and responsibility.
EARTHBOUND is now ANGEL WARRIORS - SECTIONS I, II, & III.
The other two books (HELLBOUND & HEAVENBOUND), although mostly completed, are not scheduled for printing.
