ANGEL SLYPHIA:
THE ANGEL OF ARBITRATION

Art and colors by Melinda Reynolds

WHAT IF...  There were no female angels in Heaven?

WHAT IF...  God decided to create one female angel,            shortly after the Great Flood?

WHAT IF...   She became completely, hopelessly captivated by the  rigid, stoic Commander of Heaven's Army?

WHAT IF...  Archangel Michael found himself entranced by this being, and responding to her in an unexpected manner while combatting a bewildering new sensation of love?

These possiblibilies and more are explored with humor and insight as Angel Slyphia evolves from an innocent, child-like being to a fully formed female who longs to experience all that life has to offer -- in both Heaven and Earth.

ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT   Written by Melinda Reynolds & Mary L Shuman

Belloc, a troll/minion-like being, follows Angel Warrior Mihdael from Earth to Heaven, and requests sanctuary.

While there, Belloc becomes enamoured of Angel Slyphia (ie, '...her exquisite feet and alluring ankles...'), and convinces Mihdael to aid him in finding a very special gift for her, much to Mihdael's amusement.

Meanwhile, Archangel Michael, sensing the presence of a demonic creature, does not find the situation at all amusing.

 Other titles to follow:

The first book in the series: "THE ANGEL OF ARBITRATION", features the created character Angel Slyphia (original character by Mary L. Shuman), and the Angel Warriors from Melinda Reynolds' ANGEL WARRIORS fiction.

Shortly after the Great Flood, God decided to create a new angel, and, with Archangel Raphael's input, Angel Slyphia came into being. Manifesting at first as a curious, free-sprirted girl of twleve or so, she quickly became the 'lttle sister' of the Warriors, and the dismay of the elitist Cheribim.

Away on a mission during her creation, Archangel Michael literally runs into her in Eden, and his initial reaction of shocked surprise never fully leaves him, even after she 'grows'  into an adult female by the end of the book.  Michael has never dealt with anyone like her, and tries to keep his distance; she, however, is totally infatuated with him, a feeling later growing into a deep love that prevents her from performing her duties in Heaven.

Unable to accept Michael as her brother only, God sends her to Earth to live out a lifetime as a human female in an effort to experience, and therefore be rid of, human love and romance.  But no human male can compare to Michael, and her Earthly existence is difficult for her; and as she is cut off from God and the other angels, she spirials down into a deep depression, longing to return to Heaven.  God sends Michael to watch over her, which only complicates the situation, as he is unaware of her feelings for him.  Together, they work through the problem, but Slyphia is determined to earn her way back to Heaven without Michael's well-intentioned -- but somewhat clumsy -- help.

"ALMIGHTY AFTERTHOUGHT" --  The fourth story in the series.  After being chastised by Michael for her '...remarkable facility for stating less than the truth.', Slyphia turns to Warrior Liftheon to learn why Michael is so against lying of any kind; even the 'little white lies' that cause no harm and gets her job done while dealing with Humans on Earth. Liftheon then explains how such lies nearly brought down Heaven's Army during the War in Heaven. Slyphia then wonders if she could have prevented the War -- and, in turn, all the conflicts and battles between Michael and Mihdael; she asks God about that possibility.  God sends her back in time to an Alternate Reality, where the events take place as before, but with the addition of Slyphia's input.

In her attempt to help, she alienates Mihdael from Michael; Mihdael joins the Rebellion.  After the Fall, Mihdael is Satan's consort with Lucifer as his lackey.  Resentful at Slyphia's meddling, and the fact that Michael took her advice over his own, Mihdael plots revenge.  Slyphia is horrified when Mihdael uses the basest treachery to gain Michael's sword, then kills the archangel with it.  Mihdael then kills  Lucifer, blaming him for all his failures and sentence in Hell; he then goes after Gabriel and Slyphia.  Just as the killing blow descends, Slyphia is returned to 'present reality'; and she now knows why she wasn't created before the War in Heaven.

"ARCHANGEL'S ATONEMENT" --  The fifth and last story of the series. Michael's decision costs him his rank, his authority, and his place in Heaven.  Mihdael takes over command of the Army, and Archangel Uriel is uncertain of Mihdael's true motives as the Warrior plots to return Michael to his original status in Heaven.
